I recently finished "The Raven Scholar" by Antonia Hodgson. There were some neologisms that irked me a bit, and the book probably could have been at least two hundred pages shorter, but it was enjoyable enough. It's difficult to find modern fantasy these days that ISN'T romantasy, so I appreciate it for that alone.
I've now moved on to "Slow Horses" by Mick Herron. I'm a big fan of the TV series, so I'm looking forward to finally reading the novels.

A zine I read recently. I would say it describes shocking brutality but honestly I've read about Indonesian prisons before and to be shocked one must be at least a bit surprised.
This is a more recent account of prisons than what I had read before and describes basically what anarchists, activists and other radical prisoners in Indonesia will be going through now.
Including: savage beatings from the police, betrayals, filth, deplorable conditions, inedible food, inhumane treatment that leads to the death and suffering of prisoners, drugs, addiction, bribery, and the totally apathetic indifference of guards, doctors, policemen and other representatives of the law and government that prisoners interact with.
