working on the setup of my #irc server on the side. now have configured http://thelounge.wilderland.ovh as a web portal (while @kensanata already has the same running on his server https://chat.campaignwiki.org/).

there is something really nice and basic about using #ngircd to put together a small network, even if few people actually use it.

I tried inspircd--I think it's terribly broken from Debian 12 repo(s).

I think I also tried ircd-hybrid, I can't remember why, but I think I shied away from that.

I once again tried #ngircd and I felt it was a beautiful, simple, painless, and quick experience in #debian 12.

Using the --tunnel option of the #meshtastic #cli command, setting the mode to --ch-shortfast and adjusting the "pong timeout" of #ngircd I can connect #Hexchat to the #IRC server over the mesh and DCC send files to other IRC users.... slowly. --ch-medfast and --ch-longfast seem to work as well, just slower
