Audio Units are pretty interesting, a standard for software instruments, audio processors/effects, midi processors and more! There is a general standard (VST) and also an Apple-only one (AU) of course 😒

Allo #GearSquad I’ve finished the track ‘1986’. The mic’d guitars L and R recorded prior sound a little crispy to me now but we must continue and persevere in our musical journey. I recorded the twangy tremolo lead direct today as I couldn’t seem to get a good mic’d sound. Even so I like how this sounds and it was great fun. Thanks for listening! #guitar #musicprod

@neverbeaten @Rob Ok basic tracking done with mic instead of speaker emulation. So how’d it compare? Better, even with only one mic up close. Not as mid-rangey and remote sounding as the speaker emulation. Used lots of compression but no reverb and just a bit of slap back repeat. #guitar #gearsquad #musicprod
Workflow improvement - dry erase sheet for listing the blocks of a song. A more detailed sheet I showed a few weeks ago was good for composing and planning but too small to follow for recording and I’d get lost between takes for what section I’m in. Really need a karaoke style display on my iPad that shows song sections as the track progresses but this worked well today. #guitar #musicprod #gearsquad
Learning ‘Tea In The Sahara’ by the Police. I’d like to develop a cover version. It’s deceptively simple and I can’t put the melody in a scale that fits the chords. Anyone? Bueller? #guitar #musicprod

Lets do it. Start some polls and ask the Fediverse how they want to use music tags.

Maybe something like #musicprod to shorten it up, I think most people who produce would understand what 'prod' means but idk.

What about a built tagging system? like #music #prod? I haven't tried to find things based on 2 hashtags? Can we do that?

This is really, really cool. Peter Gabriel had his latest track mixed by both Spike Stent and Tchad Blake and released both. Comparing the approaches and mixing styles is fascinating. https://www.reddit.com/r/audioengineering/comments/10p5zkj/peter_gabriel_has_each_song_of_his_upcoming_new/ #musicprod #mixing #musodon
Peter Gabriel has each song of his upcoming new album mixed twice, one by Mark 'Spike' Stent and the other by Tchad Blake

I seriously have gotten well more than my monies worth out of my korg #monotron delay. Seriously, the sounds this little box can spit have rocked my world. It's totally worth it for #noise #drone and #experimental fun times.

Apparently you can even sometimes get interesting photos when working late at night. #photography #music #musicprod #electronicmusic #electronicmusic #work

I would like to post my music (mix, remix, compositions) here for your enjoyment and feedback.

What format/media (via URL) would you prefer for a single song?
