It’s on - got some leads to compose and record tonight #guitar #HomeRecording #gearsquad

Wondering - I've played and listened for a while - but what's your perspective on the bridge pickup?

When do you go to it? What's it best at? (I know the LP poker chip says "rhythm" and "lead," but that's 60 years ago, before Jimi and Eddie and everyone else who reinvented the instrument).

Why no tone control for the bridge on a strat?
My fave sound may be a single coil neck pickup, but I play alone in a room - might be different if I were trying to stand out in a group.

#GearSquad - Anyone want 10% off some amp stuff?
I got this one-time-use coupon code with a set of tubes.
Feel free to try it out if they have anything you need, see whether someone else hasn't used it first.
I don't know whether it's good outside the US.

Hey #GearSquad. Anyone else hate standard 3 way toggles? I feel like they’re constantly failing on me.

So today I tried wiring up a DPDT on/on/on switch instead on one of my problem child guitars. I bought some non-mini versions of the switch, so they fit easily in the same pick guard or body hole that standard switches fit.

And lo! It works!

Time will tell if it’s more reliable than the standard switch. But being fully sealed and therefore less likely to corrode or get debris in there, I’m hopeful.

And here’s the wiring setup I used. A bit fiddly because everything is so packed tight on these things, but you win some you lose some.

Good news for guitar players: Neural Amp Modeler architecture 2 (A2) has been released! I'm very excited about this update to NAM. While the A1 Standard model was already quite good it was very CPU-intensive so it required a relatively powerful computer. Now with A2 Full you have the option of even better tone quality on a computer, or with A2 Lite a nearly-as-good tone reproduction running on a much cheaper chip. I look forward to getting an A2 Lite compatible stomp box so I don't need to carry a laptop with me.

Just released an EP on Bandcamp that includes collaborative assistance from @elsemusic, @muz4now and @NigelTufnel. It's re-recordings of three of the songs my cowriter Lee and I recorded at Ocean Sound Studios back in the 80's. Hope you'll listen and enjoy. #GearSquad #MusicProduction #80smusic #Pop

This sort of work is peak live music performance, but also system design. Fascinating look behind the scenes at how The Late Show (RIP) band performs, adapts, and improvises against constant moving targets.

Pedal boards, talkbacks, guitars, workflows, etc. Something for everybody.
