The Wild Hunt

The last of my full moon photos from Dun Laoghaire from the other night. There was only about an 8 minute window where the moon was visible between the clouds…but it’s 8 minutes that will stay with me for a long time to come.

My third photo from the rising full moon at Dun Laoghaire, this time showing a little more context.

The point of light to the upper right of the moon is a aeroplane beginning it’s descent to Dublin airport, while a cargo ship on the horizon makes its way into Dublin port.

Off-camera a seal was eating a fish near some rocks, just below where I was standing…

The response to my photo from last night has really blown me away. Thank you everyone!

I’ve been trying to get a shot like that for years, I’m so glad things finally worked out. I’ve a few more to come, as the moon rose higher…

Last night’s full moon, the Mourning Moon, breaking through clouds behind the East Pier Lighthouse at Dun Laoghaire.

A time to let go of things that do no good, making space for the possibilities the future brings…

I headed out to Dun Laoghaire this evening to see if I could catch the rising full moon, the Mourning Moon.

Traditionally this symbolized a time to reflect on the year & make personal changes by letting go of the baggage of the past.

This one’s from the phone.
Proper shots to follow…

* if you see a border like this on any of my photos, that means it was taken on the phone.
