Alpine skier in a crevasse on Monte Rosa, but rescue teams are standing down due to bad weather: “No hope.”
Rodolfo Franguelli, 61 years old, from Gallarate, is trapped at a depth of 30 meters. Another Italian, 28 years old, and a French man, 30, were also injured in the accident and have been hospitalized in Aosta.

Fantastic hike today near Champoluc with views on majestic mountains like the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa. The colours of snow and leaves were vibrant and complementary.
We opted for a start by cable car as it was still very cold in the shades and the cabnle car brought us up to the sun warmth. It was even T-shirt weather up there. An easy Höhenweg took us to two small settlements, in pre-winter sleep. For the winter they will wake up to serve skiers and winter hikers.
We started our descent before we would end up in the shades later in the afternoon. Thehot tub and sauna were waiting to make this the perfect day.
