Tonight I’m wishing that Becky Chambers would add more books to the Monk and Robot Series. I’d love to learn more about that calm, hopeful world.

I like the "pebs" in the #MonkAndRobot stories.

Pebs are loosely defined tokens of goods or services. If someone does a task for you, you pay them as many pebs as you feel is appropriate. They can spend those pebs on whatever, and the vendor of whatever sets the price in pebs for that product or service.

Pebs are recorded on little personal computers, but if you don't have one, it's fine to write pebs on paper and exchange them that way.

i recently watched the wild robot (genuinely one of my favourite animated movies of all time) and i was trying to find a good wallpaper from the movie

and then i found something entirely unrelated but i liked it so much that i decided this is my wallpaper now. this is “lost giant” by manon alexandre. i just love robots man. i love robots. robots are so cool.

this one is also cool because i love when theres like some old mechanical or industrial thing that nature has reclaimed and it just kinda becomes a piece of the landscape

anyway my two favourite genres of science fiction are robots with feelings and robots in nature. i love the murderbot diaries, and monk and robot, and the wild robot of course, but i also read the wild robot trilogy (AND ITS SO GOOD EVERYONE GO READ IT) and i just cant get enough of this honestly i need more. if you have media that has robots with feelings or robots in nature (or even… robots in nature with feelings) then SEND IT TO ME PLEASE I NEED MORE

Reading Monk and Robot by Becky Chambers.

I'm a sucker for any story with "healing" in its genre description, but M&R lives in that special category of stories that *teach* me how to heal - to welcome back, examine, and give words to some of the thoughts, feelings, and desires I've learned to dismiss.

Also, it's queer cottage-core scifi so like, give it a read if that's your thing.
