For now, we're trying out Mayhem Marketplace, a new Etsy alternative with a mission statement that starts with "Billionaires shouldn't exist." https://mayhem.my/help/our-mission We're still using Artisans Coop as our primary shop, but while we test Mayhem out, some of our little adoptable friends will live there instead.

(Fern:) Is anyone here on Mayhem Marketplace? I'm definitely interested! The $10/month is a lot for us, but maybe it would be worth it. I'd be willing to try it alongside our Artisans Coop shop.

I do want Artisans Coop to succeed, but there are a few things that make it less helpful than it could be. I'm specifically hoping that Mayhem might have a customer base on their site, so we get some sales from *being on the site* instead of only from our own promotions.

Saw a post pushing a new site called #MayhemMarketplace and although it looks at least a little better than #Facebook marketplace in the privacy arena & better than #Etsy in the real independent seller arena -- from what I've seen so far, they still require an active smartphone number to use them, both as a seller & buyer. They also seem to just use the parent company of PayPal or credit cards for payments but that might just be a listing issue as they say "and more" without mentioning specific options like stripe or digital coins, so I'm not sure on it.....

Overall I think they're probably the best I've seen but need time to develop more fully. To add themselves to FDroid & other open source app stores, to add the push in including other payment options and just general growth.

Their website in at least my needed accessibility aspects - font, layouts, aspect ratio, contrast and navigational toolbars are all good though so...it seems worth helping.
