We have a decision to share with you today, one that wasn't easy for us. Recently, we received a warning from IFTAS concerning the situation on pol.social. The warning talks about a huge number of spam accounts, including a high activity of organized pro-Russian bots, which has been going on for a long time. Even though we were waiting for a reaction from the admins of this instance, the issue is still very serious. In order to maintain the quality of our federation, the security of discussions and the comfort of our users, we have decided that from March 1th our instance will block the federation pol.social.
This means that:
- there will be no possibility of exchanging content between instances,
- new interactions with accounts from pol.social will not be visible.
We realize that this is definitely a popular Polish instance and for some of you it may be a noticeable change. Unfortunately, due to abuses and lack of effective reaction from the administration, continuing full federation carries too great a risk for the quality of our place. Should the situation improve and the pol.social administration implement effective anti-abuse measures, the decision may be reconsidered at a later date.
At the same time, we would like to point out that our mastodon.com.pl instance remains open to anyone looking for a calm, well-moderated place for conversations. If some of your friends from pol.social are thinking about changing their place, we will be happy to help with the account migration and keeping the list of followed profiles.

Mamy dzisiaj do przekazania decyzję, która nie była dla nas łatwa. Nadeszło ostrzeżenie od IFTAS o sytuacji na pol.social, mówiące o bardzo dużej ilości kont spamowych, w tym dużej aktywności zorganizowanych prorosyjskich botów, trwającej już od dłuższego czasu. Pomimo, że liczyliśmy na reakcję adminów tej instancji, sprawa nadal jest bardzo poważna. W trosce o jakość naszej federacji, bezpieczeństwo prowadzonych dyskusji oraz komfort naszych użytkowników podjęliśmy decyzję, że od 1 marca nasza instancja zablokuje federację pol.social.
Oznacza to, że:
- nie będzie możliwości wymiany treści między instancjami,
- nowe interakcje z kontami z pol.social nie będą widoczne.
Rozumiemy, że jest to bez wątpienia popularna polska instancja i dla niektórych z Was może to być odczuwalna zmiana. Niestety, z powodu nadużyć i braku skutecznej reakcji ze strony administracji, dalsza pełna federacja stanowi zbyt duże zagrożenie dla jakości naszego miejsca. Jeśli sytuacja ulegnie poprawie i administracja pol.social wdroży skuteczne środki przeciwdziałające nadużyciom, decyzja może zostać w przyszłości ponownie rozważona.
Jednocześnie chcielibyśmy podkreślić, że nasza instancja mastodon.com.pl pozostaje otwarta dla wszystkich, którzy szukają spokojnego, dobrze moderowanego miejsca do rozmów. Jeżeli ktoś z Waszych znajomych z pol.social rozważa zmianę miejsca, to z przyjemnością pomożemy w migracji konta oraz w zachowaniu listy obserwowanych profili.
