'I've been on bin strike for a year - city has turned into cesspit, I'm ashamed'

"United in their togetherness, they had become something other than human, substituting a mob's instincts for those of a person. And here again, the simple mathematics of us and them had given a crowd license to chew pasties and joke among themselves while they watched the living become the dead."

'It's always the books you don't have that call to you, you know that. Not the ones on your shelf. They can wait.' ~ Mark Lawrence, The Book That Wouldn’t Burn

Do you have any books preordered? In 2 months The Book That Held Her Heart, the finale to Mark Lawrence's brilliant trilogy will hopefully be here. The Book That Wouldn't Burn is so good! I would recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy/sf books about libraries, or just anyone who loves reading because of the 'quotes' at the start of each chapter.

Re-reading the #BrokenEmpire series by #MarkLawrence and it is still excellent although the references to it being on a future Earth are as basic and clunky as they always are in #fantasy

My goal this year is to read more books. No specific number but more than last year, which was zero (parenting is so much fun!!)

Here’s the first one:

One Word Kill by Mark Lawrence [Book Review] - Themself

Review of One Word Kill by Mark Lawrence. One Word Kill gets five stars for an intelligent approach to time travel, geekery with D&D, and teenage love story
