Alessa Giampaolo Keener@lizopp @martin I'm disinclined to attribute intention to people who lived 300+ yrs ago unless we have primary sources telling us explicitly what they thought. From the little bit of archival reading I've done with Baltimore YM, so far, I am seeing is the #manumissions conversation kept being laid over for months before #Quakers found unity on the minute. I suspect Friends labored with the topic for so long that the way opened for them to embrace the moral truth of their actions.

As for CWs, I refuse to use them for #BlackHistory topics, as I see that as a way of capitulating to systemic racism and the need to protect white fragility.
