I'm back home to Vienna from the awesome #cfc25 🌱
I had a shared 4 beds "ladies" cabin with only 3 beds booked. So we waited for the 3rd person who would join us at Hannover.
There, a (literally) old white man entered, and #mansplained to our and the conductor's concerned looks that his first name is "..." which obviously is a male name and because the system let him book the bed he must have the right to move in with us.
So I RaVeN-splained back to him that the system clearly pointed out during the booking process that this is a "ladies" cabin and one should read carefully the provided information while booking. It would be the same if he would book seats for his whole family with all grandchildren in the quiet compartment, just because there are the only available seats for four persons with a table...
He clearly wasn't used to not get his will accepted but the conductor luckily found him a free single sleeping box and we kept our safe space for the two of us and had a good cosy rest that night. 😂

There should definitely be more #flintasplaining to make them kind of males to get used to not trespassing and to not purposely claim #flinta or for people with other needs reserved safe spaces!

Guy: … our problem is that Dev Group clamps onto their servers and insists on running them.

Me: That isn’t actually true. (It’s my group)

Guy: But it’s 90% true. Or 80%!

Me: Well, no. And I’ve worked in Dev Grp 10 yrs. There’s some DataOps that can’t be handed off, but it’s not problematic.

Guy: [I’m paraphrasing] I know better … And if we released and ran things the way Helseplattformen does (he’s referencing a fiasco software project in headlines for years and hated by all) … Everything would be efficient and cost effective!

Me: ಠ_ಠ

So I've just got #mansplained by #Copilot, or is this #AIsplaining?

Just had someone tell me what the #Y2Kproblem is without me asking (or needing an explanation, because… ya know… I know 🤷‍♂️)

I think I just got #mansplained 🤣

Women candidly reveal the 10 'dumbest things' that have been mansplained to them

Upworthy

Our #maintenance guy just #ManSplained what was wrong with our dishwasher to me.

Like, I know it’s broken because they didn’t put together right!

I do wonder if he was showing off in hopes of getting a little something. He was kinda cute.

Found this about #GiftEconomy and #ReciprocityEconomy in Coast Salish and Māori cultures: 'The ethic of Coast Salish economy is “when you feed the people you never go hungry”, as “survival is assured through interconnectedness, ethic of care, and reciprocity.'

Dara Kelly – Indigenous Gifting and Reciprocity Economies: The Trickster and the Academy | Digital Democracies Institute

Dr. Dara Kelly from the SFU Beedie School of Business recently visited the Digital Democracies Institute to discuss her work on Indigenous economies. Her approach is informed by time spent working with Māori scholars, and her work focuses on Coast Salish gifting and reciprocity economies. She began by contextualising what it means to witness, especially

How was my day? Well:

* My P/T job #HR is refusing to reword gender status (meaningless) to gender identity in their #EqualOps policy
* They immediately jumped to "fierce political debate"
* They dismissed concerns about changes to #EqualityAct
* A coworker #mansplained 'using the debugger' to me
* An #audiobook review misgendered me + wished I'd "done better"
* It's #VO awards time so social is just happy winners and attendees... I've never been nominated or even invited.

Not great.
