With April being final project month for my students means realizing it is also final projects month for me as I will be staying a bit later, going in in a bit earlier, shortening my lunch hour.

I want to be there to assist them with fittings and finishings and ensuring they do their best work for the upcoming graduation fashion show, but also for their future selves.

It's especially telling how pervasive "fast fashion" is when many of them don't know what a facing is, or why they should try to make sure their garments are well finished so they will last for more than 1 season....

Our duvet cover wore out - the fabric near our faces thinned and tore. I used an old top-sheet whose matching fitted sheet had worn out and fashioned a pocket with which to replace the entire upper foot of the duvet cover. The cover is toasty warm and you can’t even tell where it had shredded.
