Oder zum direkten Programmieren von #Mikrocontroller n, #Firefox kann nicht seriell schreiben. #Tasmota direkt aus dem Browser flashen, oder #Meshtastic auf einen #ESP32 mit #LoRaWan. Zugegeben, die Abhängigkeit von Google wäre vielleicht etwas für den nächsten #diday...🤔

@me It depends what exact data you expect to manage. #LoRa has special radio modulation for the small amount of data and with low throughput. #LoRaWAN has the star topology with the internet gateways when the mesh protocols such as #Meshtastic and #Meshcore are ... P2P with relay capability networks that can work w/o internet gateways but they are text oriented. You can use raw #LoRa also. What data you have and how long distance is expected to pass?
@me #Meshtastic is NOT built on top of the #LoRaWAN. It's built on top #LoRa . #Meshtastic , #Meshcore and #LoRaWAN are alternative protocols. #LoRa uses 433, 868 or 915 MHz radio bands and uses chirp modulation.

I feel like the more I read about #meshtastic and #LoRa, the more confused I get.

I'm pretty sure that:

  • Meshtastic is an application built atop the #LoRaWAN protocol.
  • LoRaWAN is a network protocol using LoRa.
  • LoRa is a 900mhz spread-spectrum radio "mode" (as opposed to MFSK or AX25, etc).

I'm not 100% sure that's all correct, though. I've read bits about LoRa being used by Hams, too, which would suggest that it's not a spread-spectrum mode, or that it has alternate modes?
I'd like to experiment with data beyond just text messages, so maybe I just want a different LoRaWAN application, not Meshtastic specifically?

Na téhle technologii se pak udělal #LoRaWAN (něco jako IP). Tam se asi proslavil Helium, kdy jsi jakoby těžil coiny #HNT. Konkrétně jsi půjčoval svůj nod k přeposílání packetů a tím jsi sbíral kredity a mohl posílat taky. To ještě funguje (známý v NRW/DE to má na balkóně).

No a pak tu máme LoRa-pro 2015, RiPIe 2017, #RadioHead 2018, Meshtastic 2019, LoRaTap 2021, MeshCore 2024.
