Prairie_DogFor #ThickTrunkTuesday I present this stately old #LiveOak Tree which is growing in the front lawn of the Old State Capitol Museum in #BatonRouge #Louisiana. This tree is so wide that the limbs in the right of the photo have rested on the ground then grown upwards again. This helps with their incredible weight!
I wanted to participate in #ThickTrunkTuesday with this picture I took yesterday on the corner of South Carrollton Ave. and Willow St. in #NewOrleans #Louisiana. This #LiveOak has a lot of character, and the recent rain made its impressive growth of #ResurrectionFerns very happy. This street is lined with similar trees along its length.
