Yesterday I learned that Inside Macintosh's sample code has a bug: It uses the passed-in dirty rect when drawing list items, when it should be using the full cell rect and clip to the rect the LDEF is given. #macOS #insideMacintosh #retroProgramming #listManager #classic #LDEF

Some people assign new Follows to lists as they go along. Good advice. But sometimes we have lots of Follows to assign, or we may want to re-organise our #List categories.

@acbeers has developed a super useful #ListManager that lets you assign Follows to Lists in one big table. Each of your Follows is a row, each of your Lists is a column. You click to assign. Done.

Mastodon List Manager

A manager for Mastodon Lists which lets you add people you follow to lists through an intuitive grid-based interface.

@acbeers

Andrew, your #ListManager is a fantastic tool. Thank you so much for making it.

If we follow more than say 200 accounts, the #Home #timeline is no longer able to present us with all relevant posts. #Lists help us manage the volume.

Assigning accounts to lists by hand is cumbersome and time-consuming. Your Manager makes the process effortless and elegant. Bravo!

@embitteredmoon

So true. With many follows, the #Home #timeline is rich and varied, but inevitably one loses sight of posts from important contributors. It's the flip side of the absence of the dreaded #algorithm. The unfiltered stream is just too large.

#Lists are the answer. They are an extension of what I do manually when looking up the important accounts one by one, or when I revisit old conversations.

The #ListManager you link to seems fantastic!
