Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: Minions and the Makers Movement – Making Complex Learning More Accessible by Dr Ruth Flaherty. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.

How many times have we all struggled to teach complicated subjects, drawing out complex 2D diagrams on whiteboards or spent time in class talking through complex analogies? This seminar will demonstrate the benefits of bringing the Makers Movement into the classroom, specifically looking at innovative uses of 3D printed teaching artefacts to make complex learning topics more accessible. This session will show the educational benefits of using 3D printing in learning, drawing on recent studies in computer assisted learning and additive manufacturing. I will build on previous sessions such as Dr Willis’ session on zombies as disruptive teaching mechanisms, and introduce the many opportunities we have to bring creativity into our teaching.
