Parentis is a Shipborn Kasatha Witchwarper (Analyst) with the Focal Point anchor.
He spent much of his young life trying to figure out a question which seemingly none of his ancestors had solved - to whit, how to save Kasath. His people's home world world was dying, and most Kasathans - his family included - elected to leave it aboard the Worldship Idari to find a new home. Parentis, however, wasn't convinced it was beyond help.
He pored over calculations, research, data and anything else he could find regarding Kasath, red Suns, dying worlds, dead worlds, terraforming - the list goes on. One day, during yet another all-nighter hyperfocusing on his work, he saw it - Kasath, not as a dying husk but as a brilliant, verdant world full of life to which his people could return.
Then he woke up. But even as he peeled a sheet of paper off of the side of his head, he was certain that what he'd seen wasn't just a figment of his imagination - it had been too perfect, too real. He hadn't dreamt of a reborn Kasath, he had seen one, a living and healthy version of his people's homeworld, at this very point in time and exactly where it was meant to be in the galaxy - but not this galaxy.
Convinced that he had briefly seen into an alternate reality, he only became even more obsessed with his goal - helped by the fact that since his 'dream', he had found himself able to exert his will over the world around him, creating quasi-magical effects he had never had the talent for before.
