INC Exit Fest

On 24, 25, and 26 June 2026, the Institute of Network Cultures organizes the INC Exit Fest, a community gathering and party that celebrates the departure of our 22 year-old research group from the Amsterdam HvA-polytech to become an autonomous center/NGO/org-net/Dutch cultural organization. The move was instigated by the mandatory retirement at 67 on September 1, 2026 of its founder Geert Lovink. Already in 2024, the team decided to step into an open, yet uncertain, future–one in which will look for new partners, coalitions, and funding possibilities. We believe in the power of metamorphosis and new beginnings. It is the strong desire of the wider INC community to continue our ever-changing INC ways to bring together critical research with speculative experimentation.

Friday Night Live x Keller-Lammen Quintet

Keller-Lammen Quintet at 21:30, Late Night Jam Session at 00:00!

The Keller-Lammen Quintet consists of five talented young jazz musicians whose enthusiasm is infectious when they play together. In an unusual lineup comprising trombone, trumpet, guitar, double bass, and drums, they bring a fresh new sound to the Dutch jazz scene through their own original compositions. Bandleaders Ole Keller and Thomas Lammen met each other in the big bands of the Amsterdam music school set up by Peter Guidi. Drawn together by a shared love of improvisation, they founded the Quintet together. It started out with playing mainly standards, but by now they perform almost exclusively original music. In September 2025 they released their second album, titled 'Mixed Feelings', featuring compositions by Thomas Lammen, Ole Keller, and guitarist Thomas Fleischmann. Their inspiration comes primarily from artists such as Gerry Mulligan, Clark Terry, and Tom Jobim.

Spiritually founded as early as 1950, MOIB took seven decades to record their first singles but have stood as a source of influence for nearly every seminal band in modern rock history. Sources suggest Beethoven experienced a creative crisis upon hearing early demos of the band recorded on a smartphone, and the heavily music spoken of in Ezekiel 23:5 was likely the sound of MOIB’s first jam session.
