What would be reasons for WhatsApp users to come to alternative chat systems??

I can only think of privacy & security.
(it cant be good connectivity to friends as they are already all on WA)

In other words: Would good security, most of all E2EE, be important for a WA user to migrate to systems like XMPP or Matrix?

What do you think??

In some xmpp chatgroups it is discussed if end-to-end encryption (e2ee) is important or needed at all for the "normal user".

What do you think. Do you want proper e2ee for your chat service? Is this a criterion for you when choosing a new service?

I think as a reaction to this "incident" we will implement restrictions to new registrations, like 5 new regs per hour per IP.

Or can you think of good reasons why someone would create 10+ accounts at once?? Maybe for the whole family? I mean we're talking about private use and not business related stuff.
