Stand with Ohio Voters
We stand against attempts by the federal government and partisan actors to intimidate Ohio voters and civil rights advocates. Ohioans deserve to understand exactly what is happening: the Trump Administration is working to influence the outcome of the 2026 elections through intimidation tactics. They are threatening Ohio organizers and seizing organization materials alleging voter fraud. It is not a coincidence that they are going after state-based organizations that are building political power for Black people, people of color, working class, and young voters. This administration is using political intimidation to create a chilling effect in the hopes of reducing participation in the 2026 election. While these efforts are being disguised as independent investigations aimed at preserving election security, they are undoubtedly a coordinated strategy to distract, deter and intimidate the organizations and leaders who have been at the forefront of the civil rights movement in Ohio. The intent of these efforts is clear: intervene in state election efforts as a means to add pressure, test constitutional limits and gain control, all under the guise of “eliminating voter fraud.” When people show up to vote in high numbers, it’s more difficult for powerful, corporate interests to rig the rules for their profit. The Ohio Organizing Collaborative is being targeted because it is doing important, powerful work. But we will not be intimidated. We the people pick our leaders, not the other way around. Hands off our vote.
