@peterbrown NL seems to prefer precut granite curbs, since apparently they can be moved around every few years and filled with asphalt between (which needs less foundation because the infra doesn't let trucks drive on the bike lanes) or klinkers on low-traffic shared streets (kept low-traffic by proper application of modal filters, another demonstration of #InducedDemand giving you the traffic you build for.)
