If Scholz is afraid his government will fall if he doesn't play along with the #fdp to block the #EU #ICEban then #diegruenen (the green party), who are in te same government, should threaten to do the same if he does. That way his government will fall whatever he does but he can at least be on the right side of history.
Seriously, if this doesn't pass, EU climate policy is dead.
The debate around the 2035 #ICEban in the #EU is hilarious. Car companies are pushing back hard but we already know that the entire automotive industry will shrink dramatically by then, irrespective of the ban.
Not only it'll be hard to find someone willing to buy an ICE vehicle in 2035 but good luck finding somebody still willing to buy *a car* in general.
I don't understand why #porsche is holding on to the internal combustion engine (ice) so much, it's not like they are any good at building them, all of their cars use more than 10l/100km(!) 🙃
More seriously, outrageous they single-handedly block the adoption of the #eu #iceban with the German #fdp minister of transport in their pocket. #efuels are a joke. They got rich selling fuel-inefficient luxury cars and are now using their influence to block the only climate regulation with some teeth.
