My piano has been in our family since the mid-1950s when my great-grandfather liberated it from an air raid shelter and fixed it up for my mother, who learned to play on it like I did over 40 years later. It’s an Ibach upright parlor piano with Oberdämpfer Mechanik or ‘Birdcage Action’ that was built somewhere in the 1910s or 1920. It’s in rough exterior shape, partly painted yellow and needs some tuning nowadays, but otherwise it still plays fine! #music #piano #uprightpiano #ibach
