Sawyer’s Photo Log, 2024
This year, in addition to making blog posts about the stuff I consumed, I’m adding this one, my favourite photos I took this year.
Two things happened in 2024 that dominated my photo collection. We adopted 2 kittens, and we went to Japan. These are the things cameras are made for.
My 2024 Photo Library
I’m still using Lightroom to organize my library. I kept 1641 photos. In 2023, I kept 604. That’s a big difference. There’s 905 photos in my “Japan” folder, so if you discount that, I actually kept fewer photos overall.

The “unknown lens” row is a mixture of videos and photos from both iPhone and my camera. Metadata remains hard to nail all the time.
And of course, most of these are photos of the cats. With that in mind, I’m breaking this down into three categories: general photos, photos of Asuka and Rei, and photos from Japan.
