La culture financière est au cœur du roman. Un culture que je n'ai pas. Je suis donc probablement passé à côté d'une partie du sens. Pour le reste, le dispositif romanesque est aussi compliqué que simple. Compliqué par la multiplication des points de vue et simple par l'opposition formelle entre les protagonistes et leurs valeurs (financier VS anarchiste, homme VS femme) au service de la dénonciation d'un masculinisme tout-puissant.

I knew I was in trouble with Hernan Diaz's new Pulitzer winner Trust literally around page 5 or 10, when the narrator mentioned that the reason our book's protagonist (Gilded Age tycoon Benjamin Rask) enjoys investing because it allows him to have fun and accomplish his goals without having to worry about how his actions affect the "little people" he can't stand being around.
