Harpoons made some 12,000 years ago! #Harpoons made from #reindeer antlers are an invention of the late #Paleolithic period, they were used to hunt fish and water-dwelling animals such as otters. The harpoons were not attached firmly to a wooden shaft. After a successful throw or thrust, they separated from the shaft, but remained linked to the hunter by an attached line.
