I've once used and actually tried to service one of the #Acer #Predator21X.

These things are absolute dogshit, because their #UEFI is garbage, refuses to boot from external USB drives and the customer I tried to help was in the end helpless simply because some idiot before me fucked up the #Windows10 installation on it so hard that is was basically bricked!

Worst of all, the person who bought it basically got "scammed" because all they did was use #ACDSee so the seller who sold this to them took advantage of their #TechIlliteracy to sell them a €10k+ #Laptop when a €299 #Netbook would've done the same job whilst being objectively the better machine!

I guess the least-worst is like Wendell from #Level1Techs and the guy from #ServeTheHome (who has long exceeded escape velocity when it comes to #HomeLabs & #HomeLabbing in general*, but that's a different story), with #GamersNexus at least trying to do #testing in a scientific & reproduceable manner…

#LTT nowadays is exclusively clickbaity "Entertainment" as the most competent person AFAICT ( @emilyyoung ) left them.

Espechally since LTT nowadays does more and more extreme "#HardwarePorn" that is completely decoupled from the needs, demands and capabilities of their target demographics.

Or did they actually make some #LowBudget content that is reproduceable (unlike #ScrapyardWars) ???

Today I learnt that there are two instruments called #HiRISE in operation in #space related domains:

• The High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment onboard #NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (#MRO): https://www.uahirise.org/epo/about/, and
• The High-Resolution Imaging and Spectroscopy of Exoplanets instrument at #ESO's #VLT facility in #Chile: https://www.cnrs.fr/en/press/first-light-hirise-innovative-instrument-designed-study-exoplanets
