Here's a photo I took yesterday along the Green Chain walk between Abbey Wood and Woolwich (recommended). It's on a scrubby border to the wonderful Bostall Woods. I've deliberately edited this to give it a 'painterly' feel in Lightroom, playing around with the colours in particular.

As the first stage in the relaunch of the Green Chain Walk new directions have just been published. They might be the best yet seen and can be had here...

https://innerlondonramblers.org.uk/ideasforwalks/green-chain-walk-guides.html

The Sydenham part is section 11.

These directions are part of a joint effort between the Ramblers and TfL following the collapse of local borough support in 2016.

The Green Chain Walk was the responsibility of a consortium of five South East London Boroughs led by Greenwich who employed the staff.

You may not know that in 2016 Greenwich abandoned their role without notice or reason, the consortium thus collapsed and the footpath has had no maintenance, management or promotion since. The waymarking is very robust and is holding up well but cannot last forever.
