I am pretty sure that I have posed about this before but, **seriously**, can anyone explain why Microsoft's grammar checker in MS Office and Outlook has lost its freaking mind? It is constantly suggesting changes that convert solid grammatically correct sentences into gibberish. WTF?!?

When did they screw up grammar checkers?

I know grammar checkers have always had some weaknesses, but a couple years ago I would say 90% of the recommendations I got were useful. Now I go entire days between correct recommendations.

So, with added #ai are grammar checkers getting worse? Someone suggested this the other day and I wasn't sure if I believed them.

Having spent today editing a paper, however, I'm becoming very aware of how many of the grammar suggestions being made by the word processors I'm using are just plain wrong.
