The Alstom plant in Thunder Bay, Ont., has produced GO trains, TTC subway trains and streetcars for decades. Earlier this year, the provincial and federal governments announced they want more Canadians involved in producing the new Toronto subway trains. Oriole Station Relocation: GO or No GO? | UrbanToronto

Served by the Richmond Hill GO line, Oriole GO has provided nearby North York neighbourhoods with direct rail service to downtown since it opened in 1978. In 2002, however, Leslie station on Sheppard Line 4 opened, and plans to relocate Oriole GO station about 500 metres north to better connect the subway and GO lines have been in the works since.

What was supposed to be a new GO train station to Kitchener on St-Clair - Old Weston is likely to be transformed to be for the UP Express instead.

This station was originally part of the old #smarttrack John Tory disaster plan.

Metrolinx says the reason for the change is that they promised 15-min service for this station and it would be impossible to achieve with GO trains.
