Same situation with "smart" phones. They are not fit for purpose, proprietary from the hardware to the firmware for the radio/wifi, to the software.

Whenever their protest shows signs of being effective, they'll have communication channels closed to them. They can try to call the financial institution responsible, appeal to #Falsebook, one's #ISP… they won't restore anything. In fact they'll probably try the line, "Install this app to allow us access to your phone to *diagnose* the problem" 🤣
In this digital age, if you don't own your communication, you have nothing.

We have come to the point of realising that there are no #ethicalPhones. All of them require proprietary bits to power the #wifi and #radio components.
Thus all #smartphones are unable to be used in our view.
This might just be an #Australia problem, however and your country might be okay, but we sincerely doubt it. It appears to be a global problem.
