We had photoshop for images.. now we’re getting the same thing for video Buzzy lets you edit clips by just telling it what to change and it fixes that part without messing up everything else. That is actually kind of insane.

If you don't already know the answer to a question, the random answer that's going to come out of a slop machine is useless to you, because you have no way of evaluating it for truth or accuracy.

If you already know the answer or possess sufficient expertise in the subject to evaluate the output for truth or accuracy, then you have no need to ask the slop machine, in the first place.

"Neither expert denies that Mythos is a significant advance, but suggest the decisive regulatory action is partly driven by institutional self-preservation. “CISOs [chief information security officers] and cybersecurity vendors have a rational incentive to point out the potentially very severe consequences of a new development,” Swire explains, even if their internal estimates assume the actual impact will be a fraction of what Anthropic’s press release claims. As Martin notes, it is rare for any organization “to suffer commercial detriment by predicting calamity.”

“One risk after Mythos is that it will be easier to turn a vulnerability, a known flaw, into an exploit, something that somebody actually takes advantage of,” Swire says. “Every cybersecurity defender should take Mythos seriously, but the expected harm to defense is likely to be far lower than the worst-case scenarios would suggest.”"

What is Mythos and why are experts worried about Anthropic’s AI model

The company says Mythos is too dangerous to release publicly. Cybersecurity experts agree the model's capabilities matter, but not all of them are buying the most alarming claims

"Leading models are now “nearly indistinguishable” from each other when it comes to performance, the Stanford HAI report notes. Open-weight models are more competitive than ever, but they are converging.

As capability is no longer a “clear differentiator,” competitive pressure is shifting toward cost, reliability, and real-world usefulness.

Frontier labs are disclosing less information about their models, evaluation methods are quickly losing relevance, and independent testing can’t always corroborate developer-reported metrics.

As Stanford HAI points out: “The most capable systems are now the least transparent.”

Training code, parameter counts, dataset sizes, and durations are often being withheld — by firms including OpenAI, Anthropic and Google. And transparency is declining more broadly: In 2025, 80 out of 95 models were released without corresponding training code, while only four made their code fully open source.

Further, after rising between 2023 and 2024, scores on the Foundation Model Transparency Index — which ranks major foundation developers on 100 transparency indicators — have since dropped. The average score is now 40, representing a 17 point decrease.

“Major gaps persist in disclosure around training data, compute resources, and post-deployment impact,” according to the report."

"Perhaps in response to the growing unease, A.I. companies have lately been undertaking various other efforts to appear more high-minded. Following the lead of Anthropic, Google DeepMind recently hired an in-house philosopher, and Anthropic convened a meeting of Christian leaders to discuss its chatbot’s moral orientation. A more effective strategy might be for A.I. executives to stop appointing themselves as the only arbiters of safety, to stop asking for blind faith, and to start fostering a system of external accountability, with input and involvement from the public. Tech companies proposing ways to reshape the government is a soft form of techno-fascism that alienates citizens; if A.I. requires a new social contract or a new political hierarchy, then its shape should not be up to the corporations to determine. There is another troubling paradox behind A.I. founders’ messaging: If the technology is as formidable as they claim, then they could be leading us toward existential disaster; if the technology proves less transformative, and thus less valuable than the hype suggests, then they are merely setting us up for global economic disaster. For those of us who aren’t self-appointed heroes of the artificial-intelligence movement, neither scenario is particularly appealing."
