"β¦ On the 27th of May Majda was also unjustly arrested, alongside other innocent people including elderly, disabled and tourists passing by. She was abused in a forced suicide cell, stripped naked, without food, water or toilet facilities for over 16 hours. The conditions during her detention were so extreme that Majda suffered several anxiety attacks and heart compressions before losing her breath and falling unconscious three times. She was released in exchange for her fingerprints, without any medical attention from a specialist. The police insulted and abused her, denying her European origin because of her colour, religion and race.
Constant humiliation, threats and forced isolation are among the dehumanising tactics used against Sam and other political prisoners in the Netherlands. We recognise these police tactics as pathetic attempts to sow division in our movement. We reject the criminalisation of activists and all forms of state repression."

"ONE MONTH SINCE THE ARREST OF SAM!
On 13 May, Sam, a Palestinian queer activist, was snatched from a protest in Dam Square. Itβs been a month and Sam is still being denied visits. Despite complying with all legal requirements, prison staff are threatening and throwing out friends who try to visit him. During this time, Sam has been moved twice in an attempt to isolate him. Sam, among other activists, is being targeted for his Palestinian roots and heritage, which intersect with his queer soul and identity.
Recently, Simone, a queer pro-Palestinian activist, has been targeted by the Dutch police. On 9 May she was arrested, beaten unconscious and released without charge. A few days later the police took Simone from her home. We have been informed that the police inflicted such mental and physical torture that she attempted to take her own life while in custody. She was granted bail in exchange for her right to protest. The Dutch police, in violation of the constitution, targeted and abused Simone because of her transgender POC identity. β¦"
