There might be some few people who would be interested in reading about my recent #Fostex upgrade project wherein I keep my 20 year old multi-tracker running by replacing the old 40GB hard drive with an SSD.
@amd @3dprinting Years ago I printed the "open alpha" headphones that used #fostex drivers.
While I'll stick to my #beyerdynamic 990's it was a fun project and a friend and I did it together so far was fun.
I'll have to look into the Ploopy's 😅 looks like they're much more "from the ground up".

As a thank you to the Head-Fi community, we're pleased to share a modified version of the Alpha Dog 3D printed headphone for the community to build DIY projects and perhaps improve on the tuning and performance of the headphone. We are posting this fully unlicensed, though we hope people will...
After ten years of daily use, hauling back and forth to work, home, radio show ( @opman ), recording, travel, the best #headphones I ever owned finally gave up. Damn it.
They're a modified pair of #fostex #t50rp made by Mr Speakers (now #DanClarkAudio).
You wouldn't download a pair of headphones‽
I just got a new set of far too high-end headphones, and they've shown me some flaws in one of my previous projects, a MrSpeakers Open Alpha.
I'm reprinting it with a few fixes and on a higher quality machine!
Next step is paint!
