@lwn It was rather a shame that the EU had no room for FOSS in Cluster 4 of it's budget for funds like @NGIZero to carry on beyond 2027. So I hope lots of us do give some evidence.

So I had some more thoughts about FOSS sustainability. I've had them for some time. But this weeks issues reminded me of them.
So here's a mild spruik for some of the orgs who make my digital spaces for myself and my project and also package @librecast

The OSU open source lab is one of those lynchpins for many Projects in FOSS.
Even small projects like @librecast depend on those servers. To be clear we don't host our project infrastructure with them.
But when we do a Librecast release it gets tested on Debian infrastructure to package it for #Debian and #Guix. Which OSUOSL is a part of.
So if you can spare some cash for this lab, please do so.
Our ecosystem depends on this.
@dennyhenke well this is why @ngi and @NGIZero in particular is so important and at the moment there's no future budget for this initiative. #NGIZero has funded fediverse projects.
So post 2027 no new cascade EU funding seems on the cards yet.
Which is why so many of us signed the NGI open letter.

@nlnet will be at #fosdem running a couple of BOFs and will be involved with the Devroom: Funding the FOSS Ecosystem. Which is important for #fosssustainability for the #NGI ecosystem.
We won't be there at FOSDEM, but our hexstickers will as will the stickers for other projects at the NLNet hexstand in Building K level 2.
