Unfortunately the #followhashtag interface is a bit rubbish. You can help improve it here on #Github, https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/19895, because yes, Mastodon is run by #opensource #volunteers, not by #Elon (as if he was doing any work). So overall, no, Mastodon is not #twitter 2006. But I will still miss #breakingnews.

The hashtags for now (on Tusky) I only able to access "locals" and/or people I follow. I tried advanced web interface but again with no luck😔

Sitting here looking at the new #FollowHashtag functionality in #Mastodon4 and just depressed at the thought of thinking of interesting hashtags.
I'm sure I'll get there, but it just sounds like more hard work right now...
