Spring flowers

Today the Star Tribune reminded me that lady’s slippers - Minnesota’s state flower - are starting to bloom. One of the places they recommended was Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden, not far from Minneapolis.

I hadn’t been there before, so I went. The garden was charming, though a few trails (the ones where lady’s slippers are supposed to grow) were closed. So no state flower for me but I did find plenty of other wildflowers. And I liked the place enough to want to come back.

Plus, there are a bunch of bike trails nearby, so plenty left to explore.

My week at work (spring-is-here edition):

➡ A leisure complex needing improved multi-modal access
➡ Saved Local Plan policies from the early 2000s that are still live and valid (or valid-ish)
➡ And why (for a local authority) it’s worth having plans in your pocket, ready for any future funding opportunities
