"Op vrijdag 23 februari, ruim een jaar na zijn ontsnapping uit de Central Park Zoo, werd Flaco gevonden onder een gebouw op West 89th Street. De held van het verhaal leefde niet lang en gelukkig, maar had zich te pletter gevlogen tegen een gevel. In een officiële verklaring moest de dierentuin merkbaar zijn best doen om een ‘ik zei het toch’ te onderdrukken."
