We’ve just finished upgrading an old light box used for viewing film negatives. The fluorescent tube was failing and the driver PCB was toasty... so we fixed it:

Any idea how to repair the backing on a 'non-slip' rug? The rug is perfect, except for the backing. Washing thee rugs ruins the back, but, I mean, they need to be washed!

Operation: Weld Chair is a success. It didn't end up being the cleanest weld, but I didn't have a lot of similar material to practice on.

In addition to fixing the chair, I also confirmed that I can run the Lincoln welder on one of our outdoor outlets without blowing a fuse. I'll need a more portable workshop setup if I plan on doing anything more ambitious than this though. The patio is just not the right space (too many flammable items).

This is my first completed visible mending project. Performed on a pair of DH's work pants, which were ripped by a nail. While I hope to get better at it, I'm pleased with this project - the outcome, the $ saved and the environmental outcome.
