This is my first post on this instance and my first post on mastadon. My thing is ASLWrite which you can find more info at slwrite.org (completely free and not mine) and lots of links to browse at https://chirp.me/ASLwriteFan. Many of which are my socials but several links are educational and learning materials from others.

I wasn't sure if/where/when I'd be accepted on an instance so I have now, just after being accepted on this instance, been accepted on another. While there will be some overlap I will try to keep each instance an unique approach.

Well now, here's what seems like a neat new social media site.

When it comes to the Fediverse, I've been on Mastodon since 2017 but mostly browsed it and only began posting at the end of 2024.

I dabbled with Bluesky for a handful of months. It was fun at first but I grew bored sometime after the 2025 Canadian Federal election as spring approached and I got back into riding bikes and generally doing things other than stressing daily over domestic politics; I try to remain informed, not obsessed.

I've been online since the 90's and seen many websites and social networks come and go. I find the de-centralized nature of the Fediverse fascinating and something I am beginning to actively explore more. My next steps are to get posting more on Pixelfed, and joining a Peertube instance. And maybe checking out some others, like Bookwyrm.

Anyway, now I'm in danger of rambling. Oh, does Sharkey / Human Words have post character limits? I guess I'll find out! #firstpost
