Well, I'm pretty sure it doesn't work that way, but it certainly *looks* like the #feb28blackout had instant effect.

More plausibly, this could be impact of #krasnov's insane policies starting to have effect. I know my own consumer sentiment has gone ice cold.

Fellow USAians, be public about your participation in the #feb28blackout #feb28 #feb28th If you don't buy something for a day it will annoy them, if you create a wishlist and commit to not buy anything on it until democracy gets better, it will INFURIATE them. Even if you only commit to not buy it for a _month or two_, that will cost them with their stockholders. Also consider cancelling subscriptions with a commitment to not renew. You're being tracked, let them know you're mad.

Surprised I haven’t seen more promotion of the Feb 28th economic boycott here.

I support this. I hope lots of people take part.

What to know about the Feb. 28 "economic blackout"

The grassroots group behind the blackout says it is about "sending a clear message: we have the power."

Axios
Take part in the national economic blackout on Friday, February 28 to protest the elimination of DEI initiatives. Don’t buy ANYTHING unless it’s from a small business: no gas, no fast food, no Amazon, no Target, no Walmart, no Best Buy. Don’t use credit or debit cards for nonessential spending.
