This is disappointing. Took some red oak and worked it into a nice end grain board but look at all those fractures. Oak is already porous and was going to need some epoxy or at least a tung oil bath but with this many gaps and tears I don’t think I can keep it as something for utility.

Guess I’ll need to make it an art project. 😮‍💨 Ideas?
