Tesla recalls 14,575 Model Y vehicles due to missing weight certification stickers. The affected models, produced between November 2024 and April 2026, will undergo physical inspections for compliance. Tesla is addressing the issue with an automated scanning tool and is manually checking vehicles at the factory. #recall #electriccars
Drivers urged to do this to save on fuel bills this weekend
Interestingly, related to my previous post, the Brazilian government just launched a program offering up to R$30 billion (~€4.3 billion) in subsidized loans to finance new more sustainable vehicles for ride-hailing and taxi drivers.
Although Brazil still faces infrastructure challenges, especially outside major cities, electric vehicles adoption may accelerate much faster than expected in dense urban regions with expensive fuel and heavy traffic.
That might explain why Merz was so eager to leave Belém during COP30, less risk of being inspired.

DVLA rule means drivers 'must pay' or your car could be clamped and crushed
Uber driver in Brazil: switched from a 1.5L combustion car to a BYD Dolphin electric vehicle. He said his monthly fuel costs went from over R$3,000 (~€430) to a maximum of R$900 (~€130) with electricity.
According to him, the manufacturer claims the car has a range of about 430 km, but in practice it’s around 360 km because São Paulo has a lot of hills and traffic.
The guy was a mechanic and said the car has much lower maintenance costs. His colleagues told him he was crazy to switch to electric, but he said the savings on fuel practically cover the car’s monthly payments. A new one costs around R$150,000 (~€21,500), but he managed to get a used one for R$120,000 (~€17,000).
He also said his goal is to make R$400/day (~€57/day) driving for Uber, which is close to what I’ve heard from other drivers as well.
I asked two other Uber drivers if it made sense, and they confirmed and said they’ve been hearing really good things about this BYD.
Interesting math.
