The #Japanese tendency to let nature go a bit wild was unexpected, given the fastidiousness of most exported cultural artefacts. I guess there's a larger #WabiSabi thing at work, possibly a Shinto-derived willingness to let nature just be.

The deserted #Dotonburi boardwalk, as a gentle rain disturbs the surface of the water. It's strange to me how easy it was to find deserted scenarios for a #Photo, in the peak tourist location of a major #Japanese city.

Only a block or two from #Dotonburi, the crowd has melted away, and this picturebook #Japanese pedestrian laneway is almost empty. I love that in this #Photo the silhouetted man at the end has his arm in an instantly recognisable gesture of holding a phone to his ear. The fat bundle of cables suspended the length of the lane should tickle the OCD of any #SysAdmin.
