@mhoye I fill out my #vinyl with #SecondHand #records. One day I was talking to the owner (Outdoor market record store) if he had a copy of Dexter’s first album from the #FlatDuoJets? He didn’t and the talk went to Australian Rock-A-Billy and the fact that in the 70s Dutch tourists scooped up all the records of Australian vinyl; Meaning there are none left. Limited market and the fact they were never re-pressed and as rare as hens teeth.

Scoop ‘em up, take a listen and find out the history of the #discs.

Ice lily pads on Lake Cochituate! These shapes are formed when water freezes on top of a body of water with waves to break the ice into chunks as it forms. The edges are caused by the chunks bumping up against one another. Really cool!

2/ 🌌 Normally, water dominates the inner regions of such planet-forming #discs, where Earth-like planets may emerge. This finding shows that strong #ultraviolet radiation in massive star-forming regions can also drastically alter disc chemistry, and thus the building blocks of future #planets.

1/ 🌌 A twist in planet formation: Protoplanetary #discs aren’t flat. 🪐

A recent study led by Andrew Winter from #MPIA and the Queen Mary University of London #QMUL shows many discs are slightly warped instead of being highly symmetrical.
