Added an option to maximise dialogue nodes for more focused editing. Choice nodes to come as well.
Going to need to embark on a major refactor soon because the code is a messs and there's loads of repeated code between the two editing modes.
My dialogue graph editor, #Digression, worked pretty well on its recent outing for #LudumDare, but there were still definitely some pain points. One was that manually sizing the nodes was a hassle, and another was that a lot of space was taken up by controls that were rarely, if ever required.
I do like that I got to use my dialogue graph editor, #Digression, again, and it mostly worked great for scripting the interactions. I can see a few things that need improving though.
I also leaned really heavily on tweens and simple property-based animations, and I think that worked really well, I only had to animate one thing by hand.
Also also I implemented a lot of stuff as resources in Godot, and taking that approach from the start helped with creating variations of things quickly.
I added an option to set the size of comments so you can indicate areas of the graph as well as providing detailed explanations.
Rounding out the range of functions that can be called in expressions in my dialogue graph editor. Previously I only implemented a couple as a proof of concept.
I'm not sure how many I will actually implement. How likely are trig and interpolation functions to be useful in this context?
Back to work on my #Digression dialogue graph editor for #GodotEngine in the last few days. I'm adapting the dialogue node to support multiple sections for a single character, but potentially with different "variants" and properties. Should be a bit easier to manage than having to create new nodes just for a brief change in how a character or their dialogue is presented.

A quotation from Virgil:
«
But time meanwhile is flying, flying beyond recall, while we, charmed with love of our theme, linger around each detail!
[Sed fugit interea, fugit inreparabile tempus,
singula dum capti circumvectamur amore.]

But time meanwhile is flying, flying beyond recall, while we, charmed with love of our theme, linger around each detail! [Sed fugit interea, fugit inreparabile tempus, singula dum capti circumvectamur amore.] After a lengthy description of the springtime mating habits of wild animals and horses, Virgil basically saying, "But I…
