Today, in order to explain why ISDN was a big deal I had to explain dial up internet to a colleague. Which wasn't much of a suprise as she was born in the current century and hasn't got a single geeky bone in her body. It did make me feel old though.

Also: there must be a Carl Sagan apple pie/universe joke here somewhere, but my old fogged up brain can't seem find it. Feel free to make up one.
