One of those things:

Your new down stairs neighbor is doing renovations before moving in, rings your doorbell looking for a pan and having to tell them no because you don't have any after having thrown the old batch out as you were switching to induction cooking and didn't get around to replacing them.

Also: the factory set child lock is still on five years after the stoven got installed.

I do use the oven/microwave combi.

Today, in order to explain why ISDN was a big deal I had to explain dial up internet to a colleague. Which wasn't much of a suprise as she was born in the current century and hasn't got a single geeky bone in her body. It did make me feel old though.

Also: there must be a Carl Sagan apple pie/universe joke here somewhere, but my old fogged up brain can't seem find it. Feel free to make up one.

Yesterday's ups and downs:

Getting bad but very enjoyable because of the large amount of caramel syrup involved coffee to go at a large American chain with 1,2,3,4 by Feist in the background.

Getting bad, but at least it has caffeine coffee at the office pantry with a coworker talking about the importance of maritime and natural law with regards to personhood and the corporate identity of you the goverment uses in the background.

You know you're getting old and cranky when, on your way home, walking through the Utrecht Central Station hall towards your bus stop, you pass a pop up store called Upfront, containing some young people, two refrigerators and a counter in a slick interior, but no real clues as to what they're selling or is going on otherwise and your first thought is: "Could someone explain this to me so I can tell why it is bullshit? Because it looks like bullshit".
