Before and after artwork for Stirred. Based on playtests, I was looking for a way to increase recognition on the player choice of movement along with an update to the background so the elements look like they are floating in a pool of goo. I really love the cartoon style of the original, but wanted to explore using something a little darker based on the theme. New art by @mogo_graphics #boardgames #DesignDiary #unpublished
My banner image? It's taken from art to a game I've been working on for a while now: Emprise. The lovely @doodlefrog and @mongo_graphics created the line art. Developing art (created by a friend) for a game (created by me), tentatively called Stirred . Players craft modern day potions of energy, Each turn, using cards from their hand, a player reveals and can shift ingredients in the shared pot, working to take sets of matching cards. The player who earns the most points after three sets wins. #designdiary #unpublished

I spent a bit of time over the weekend setting up the space game prototype on playingcards.io. I much prefer physical prototyping but I'm doing a remote playtest this evening so needs must.

I hadn't used playingcards.io before but first impressions were very positive. It generally seems easier to use than Tabletopia or TTS.

Overall it took me about 2 hours to learn the tools and get the game working as intended.
